18 Aug A designer’s diary: A Calm and Current Cafe
A Calm and Current Cafe
In this blog series ‘A Designer’s Diary’ we highlight our interior designer’s thoughts and inspirations. This week’s mood board explores a calm and current cafe interior.
With the Fringe in full swing, Edinburgh returns to a bustling city as the streets are filled with excited locals and tourists alike. Cafes and restaurants become busy once more and provide the perfect source of inspiration for our mood board this week.
Earthy tones – a trending theme
Muted earthy tones including taupe, terracotta, stone and beige are applied – tones derived from nature to instil a relaxing atmosphere. To add depth and visual interest, these subdued hues are paired with hints of jet black in furniture and lighting. The thin profiles of these give a contemporary feel and the overall appearance of the cafe scene is one of welcome.
