Behind the Blinds

Whilst we have worked with Silent Gliss for many, many years now, it’s always good to see the people and the brand behind the blinds, and our recent trip to the Silent Gliss headquarters in Broadstairs did exactly that.

A Warm Welcome

From the moment we stepped into the Silent Gliss HQ, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Despite daily interactions with the Silent Gliss team via email or phone, there’s nothing quite like an in-person catchup, particularly if it’s over a delicious lunch which the team so kindly prepared for us.

Next on our itinerary was the anticipated factory tour which also allowed us to discuss how we can continue to collaborate effectively to meet the needs of our customers. One of the highlights of our visit was getting an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the production process. Witnessing the meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into creating each blind reaffirmed our confidence in the quality of Silent Gliss products.

We saw where tracks were being bent, where blinds were tried and tested and also how they were actually assembled – most fascinating was the venetian blinds in a leather finish (as seen below).

We also witnessed how and where fabrics were cut, the beautiful fabric selection and the packaging station whereby products were carefully wrapped before being shipped off to their new homes.

As we were guided through the factory, we couldn’t help but feel in awe of the attention to detail and it was incredible to see how much was done by hand! More so, it was lovely for us to see and speak to the people that put so much work and passion into creating these beautiful products. We even spotted one of our orders in the making – an order which we had only placed the day before!!
