07 Apr Five tips to make the most of your garden space
To help you enhance your gardens, patios, and terraces, our interior designers share five top tips to prepare you for the warmer days coming. We hope they prove to be useful and inspiring – enjoy the read!
1. Quality assures longevity
Our first top tip to make the most of your garden space is to invest in quality outdoor furniture. The same principle applies for your home furniture as it does for your garden furniture – opt for quality pieces that will stand the test of time. Whilst this advice isn’t exactly secret knowledge, it is extremely important as garden furniture has the added constraint of having to withstand the elements – no mean feat here in the UK! By investing in garden furniture made from high quality materials, and by recognised craftsmen, you are not only acquiring pieces that look exceptional, but are also much more reliable. They do not need to be replaced year after year!

2. A note on style
In recent years we have seen a rapid increase in outdoor furniture options. This is great news for those of you who are looking for something a little different than what you might ordinarily see in garden centres. We have always followed the notion that the home should be a reflection of it’s inhabitants and the same should be true for your garden space. Whether your interior style leans towards contemporary or traditional, eclectic, modern or minimal, Tangram have outdoor options to suit all tastes. A collection of beautiful and functional furniture to create a wonderfully unique garden setting.

3. Comfort is crucial
To create an outdoor oasis; a sanctuary that one wants to spend time in, it is paramount to consider comfort. Gone are the days of hard, uncomfortable seating; hello squashy sofas and relaxing lounge chairs!

4. Al fresco dining done right
There’s nothing quite like eating outdoors! With warmer days ahead (and we have already had a little taste of what is hopefully to come) soon the season for alfresco dining will begin! If garden space and budget will allow, a generously sized outdoor dining table is always a good option – particularly if you’re partial to entertaining. Natural materials such as wood, makes for an excellent choice for dining tables and chairs. It is a tactile, practical and durable, and of course is very fitting in the outdoors.

5. Indoor Outdoor Living
‘Indoor outdoor living’ is a phrase that is brandished around a lot these days, particularly as we have come into Spring. It simply means to bring the look and feel of the indoors, outside. So how do we break the boundaries between in and out? One approach is by utilising multi-functional furniture. By choosing furniture that works just as well indoors as it does out, you will instantly create a garden setting that looks considered, welcoming and inspirational. Beautiful interior design spaces aren’t just for indoors.
