20 Feb Furniture Fairs Highlights
It’s Fair Season! The Stockholm Furniture Fair and Maison et Objet in Paris have already brought some great contract pieces to the market from the biggest names in contemporary furniture. We have walked the fair grounds and sifted through the catalogues to bring you just the highlights, without any of the tedious traveling.
Alumi Alcove, Stitch Screen and Magvision | Abstracta
Alumi Alcove, designed by Nina Jobs, is an addition to the Alumi screen series and brings exciting new combinations for open plan work spaces with good longevity and adaptability.
Stefan Borselius was inspired by sofas, cushions and down jackets to create the Stitch Screen, a soft design which changes audio characteristics of a space dramatically.
MagVision is a fun development from the classic Vision boards, with magnetic surfaces and playful colours.
Add stools, Cajal sofa and Comet Sport | Lammhults
The design of the new Add stools forces one to sit actively and upright, increasing oxygen flow and productivity.
The Cajal sofas are slender, contemporary and restful – perfect for offices, restaurants and waiting rooms.
A little more speedy than the original Comet chair, the Comet Sport is smaller and lighter without compromising on shape or function.
Gingko Panels and Code 27 sofa | Bla Station
Merging Japanese tradition with contemporary European style, the wall mounted panels of the Gingko Panel system can be combined in different colour patterns to create varied inspirational landscapes.
Again, Bla Station is aiming for adaptability with the Code 27 sofa which is made up of 27 cm cushion modules that can be mixed and matched on the steel tubular frame.
Madison sofa and Kite low back | Swedese
While reminiscent of the Mad Men, the Madison Sofa is Made in Sweden by the architecture firm Wingardhs for Volvos new display concept.
The Kite easy chair from Brober and Ridderstrale is now available as a low backed version as well!
Hudson sofa and Voltige armchair | Ligne Roset
Launched at Maison et Objet, the Hudson sofa is slim, compact and has clean, functional lines. In addition, it’s incredibly comfortable thanks to an additional layer of down feathers.
Inspired by the Bergeres, the famous armchairs of the Louis XVI style, the Voltige is a stripped-down, current interpretation with modern fabrics and a simple metal frame.
