The Impact of Lighting in Hospitality
When it comes to interior design within the hospitality industry, lighting plays a pivotal role beyond functionality. It has the power to set the mood, evoke emotions, and create unforgettable experiences for guests. Imagine walking into a restaurant where each corner is adorned with strategically placed lights, casting enchanting shadows and immersing you in an atmosphere of sophistication and allure. This is the magic of impactful lighting.

Beautiful Restaurant, Bar & Café Lighting
Bohemia Suspension Light and Ginger Wall Light – Marset
Here the scale of the Bohemia is perfectly suited to this chic cocktail bar with an industrial theme. The bar itself is a focal point – it’s essential that people are drawn to this space, the lighting therefore plays a pivotal role to entice and lure. Bohemia effectively does this with it’s striking appearance and sheer volume! Also seen here, are the beautiful Ginger wall lights, adding pockets of warm glow and charm.
Tip: Use lighting to draw attention to key focal points within the space, such as the bar area, seating arrangements, or unique architectural features. This helps create visual interest and guides the flow of traffic.
Series 38 – Bocci
This lighting installation from Bocci, really adds the ‘wow’ factor to this bright and airy café. There is a minimalist and simple aesthetic but with the addition of plants and succulents to the lighting fixtures, there is simultaneously drama! Unusual and unforgettable, the designers have hit the nail on the head with this one.
Cirio Chandelier – Santa & Cole
It doesn’t get more atmospheric than this! This cascading chandelier, reminds us of a waterfall as it drapes beautifully above the table. A perfect choice for a jungle inspired dining experience!
Tip: You might consider incorporating custom lighting solutions that are tailored to the specific needs and aesthetics of the space. Some of our manufacturers can create bespoke fixtures, this will really help enhance the overall design concept and create something completely unique.

Victo 4250, Octo 4240, Secto 4200 – Secto
Here this café space is transformed by multiple wooden lights of varying heights and shapes. The lights serve as a focal point, sparking conversations and contributing to the creation of a lovely experience for diners.
Gustave – Flos
Crafted with the hospitality industry in mind, the Gustave portable light takes its name from the endearing concierge character in Wes Anderson’s beloved film, “Grand Budapest Hotel,” a personal favourite of Van Duysen, the designer. Gustave excels in its role to provide comfortable, high-performance lighting that harmonises flawlessly with the dining experience.
Tekió Circular – Santa & Cole
Golden hues and layers of lighting for an enchanting space. The star of the show here is of course the Tekió suspension lights from Santa and Cole. Inspired by the traditional Japanese paper lantern, Tekió stands out as a contemporary object. When arranged together as a group, the fixtures build a warm and welcoming environment.
Tip: Choose lighting fixtures with appropriate colour temperatures to complement the desired mood or theme of the space. Warm white lighting (2700K-3000K ) creates a cosy and inviting atmosphere, while cooler white lighting (4000K -5000K) can evoke a more modern and energising ambiance suitable for a working environment.
