02 Jul Interior design for golf clubs
With a little help from Tangram, Mortonhall Golf Club on the south side of Edinburgh has been transformed over recent months. An extensive refurbishment programme has seen new flooring, complete redecoration and some great new contemporary breakout furniture. ‘Lido’ armchairs and sofas were combined with ‘Capital’ dining chairs all from Billiani and upholstered in a combination of leather and textured fabrics from Vescom.
Mortonhall lounge is now a great post golf relaxation space as well as ideal for cosy lunches and private events.
Clever ideas for using contemporary contract furniture when refurbishing golf clubs or other commercial function spaces
1) Room dividers or even removable walls (like the ones used in Mortonhall from Style Scotland) are a great and simple way to change the appearance and function of the space.
2) Retaining key elements of the clubs history is paramount however the addition of more contemporary furnishings will create a more functional and easily managed clubhouse whilst offering members an interior that is warm and relaxing after a day out on the course.
3) Using a family of furniture throughout different spaces of a clubhouse allows for maximum flexibility to house functions of all size and requirement.
