06 Dec It’s Good 2 Give Charity Ball
A Wonderful Evening For A Wonderful Cause
Last month, Tangram’s Interior Designers, Joanne and Wouter had the pleasure of attending the annual It’s Good 2 Give Charity Ball.
For those unfamiliar with the It’s Good 2 Give, they are a charity that is dedicated to supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of young cancer patients (aged 0-18) and their families in Scotland.
Earlier this year, Tangram partnered with this incredible company and have witnessed first-hand some of the wonderful things they do, making a monumental difference to families going through an unfathomable time.
It was therefore, a great pleasure for us to show our support and attend their annual fundraising ball!
This significant fundraising event featured numerous auctions and raffles, offering a plethora of stunning prizes. Notably, it marked a poignant moment as it was the last ball organised by Lynne McNicoll, co-founder of It’s Good 2 Give.
The Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh’s West End served as the venue for the ball, attracting around 350 attendees—a remarkable turnout. Tangram participated by hosting a table for ten, bringing along eight of our lovely clients. While we pride ourselves on getting to know our clients, it’s not often that we have the chance to enjoy their company in a social setting. This added a special touch to this gorgeous evening.
The night commenced with a welcoming glass of fizz. Guests were then shown to beautifully decorated tables which were adorned with leaflets detailing the remarkable work of It’s Good 2 Give.
A delicious three-course meal was served and in between courses we engaged in all sorts of fundraising activities including the enthralling silent auction.
Hosts Grant Stott and Tonya Macari entertained the crowd and the atmosphere was charged with excitement – particularly during a lively ‘bidding war’ between two guests. The prize in question was a gorgeous ‘Highland Coo’ sculpture by the renowned blacksmith and artist, Kev Paxton. In a surprising turn of events, the artist (whom also attended the ball) announced he would donate another Coo sculpture so neither parties were disappointed. So generous!
It was also lovely to see some of the prizes that Tangram’s manufacturers so kindly donated. This included leather purses from Poltrona Frau, a Wishbone Chair from Carl Hansen & Son, Happy Hooks and an Ikebana Vase from Fritz Hansen, Dot coat hooks from Schönbuch, an Onda stool from STUA, an Eames Elephant and a Wooden Doll from Vitra, a Backenzahn Stool from E15 and a wool throw from Swedese. Thank you all so much! Your generosity did not go unnoticed!
