29 Nov Lochside House wins RIBA House of the Year 2018
Last night we were delighted to see Lochside House win the UK’s prestigious 2018 RIBA House of the Year award on Grand Designs.
Designed by Haysom Ward Millar Architects, the ‘breathtaking’ off-grid cottage, located in Scotland’s West Highlands, is powered by solar energy and has its own water supply, and was praised for its ‘highly sustainable, off-grid approach’.
RIBA president Ben Derbyshire, who described the design as ‘breathtaking’, said ‘it leaves the surrounding environment as undisturbed as possible.’ He added: ‘Every detail has been fine-tuned to create an exceptional home and studio that meets the needs and wishes of its artist owner.’
Tangram Furnishers were privileged to supply beds, sofas and dining furniture to complement this beautiful award-winning project. Take a look at the project below, photography is by Richard Fraser.
