25 Jun Our Manufacturers’ Latest Designs: The Office Edit
Within this series of blogs ‘Our Manufacturers’ Latest Designs’, we have categorised our favourite furniture and lighting design which were released at the two furniture fairs we attended this year – Salone del Mobile (Milan) and 3daysofdesign (Copenhagen). In this blog, we explore the designs that fit perfectly into office landscapes. We hope it brings you ample inspiration for your upcoming office projects!
Office Inspiration – the Latest Designs from Copenhagen and Milan
Catifa Carta – Arper
To kick of this office inspo journey, we start with Arper’s latest release the Catifa Carta chair. The Catifa chair has proved to be one of Arper’s most successful designs and now it has had a green upgrade! The re-engineered shell is made from a revolutionary new material – a wood by-product called PaperShell. The result has dramatically reduced Catifa’s impact on the environment.
Ghia – Arper
With its soft, organic forms and striking, strong base, the Ghia collection works well in so many spaces. The larger version can be used in meeting rooms while the smaller versions work as coffee tables, small desks and everything in between. Whether its used for casual meetings or executive tasks, Ghia brings a more homely touch to corporate environments.
Tulipan – + Halle
‘Tulipan is a new type of soft enclosure, a piece of furniture that offers a moment of separateness without the feeling of closing the door on its surroundings.’ With a comfortable seat and a small table, Tulipan creates a private space even in the busiest of work environments.
Quilt – Porro
Designed by Werner Aisslinger for Porro, Quilt is a contemporary bench for workplaces and transit areas. The design can be placed alone or in series, creating linear and rigorous compositions.
Aeon Stool – Zeitraum
This versatile design is ideal for impromptu meetings or to provide a comfortable seating option for employees during lunch breaks. Its sleek design seamlessly fits into any modern office offering both convenience and aesthetic appeal. Aeon was a particular favourite of ours during 3daysofdesign.
Able – Bla Station
The lovely Able chair from Bla Station. Aptly named, Able is sustainable, recyclable, upgradeable, changeable, renewable, dismountable, traceable, serviceable, adaptable, and lovable!
Veva – Bla Station
‘In a world constantly flooded with new digital and human-abandoned solutions, Veva became an opportunity for us to return to the simple, the obvious – what the eye sees and understands – in an instant.’ With 4000 different heights if you count every millimeter, Veva is the epiphany of functionality.
Canvas – Schonbuch
One furniture piece, a billion possible configurations. Canvas offers more combinations of fittings and finishes than any other product line in the Schonbuch collection. Designed by Christian Haas, the units alone offer an array of possibilities, thanks to their different heights, widths and depths.
Management X – Walter Knoll
Management X is Walter Knoll’s latest design – a workplace and conference table in one. The modular system offers a wide range of individual configurations for working, meeting, storage and IT integration. Flexible and highly adaptive, Management X ticks a lot of boxes!
Sheru – Walter Knoll
We’ve always loved the Sheru range from Walter Knoll. It’s one of those chairs that EVERYONE finds comfortable! We’re therefore super excited that the German manufacturer has extended the collection to now include this high back version. We didn’t think it possible to increase the comfort level of this chair, but the newest version does exactly that! With the option to have contrasting fabrics and leathers on the inner and outer of the shell, Sheru is really customisable and the four star base gives the chair a sophisticated aesthetic, perfect for offices and breakout areas.
Bay System Pouf – Poltrona Frau
Designed by Foster + Partners, the Bay System Pouf is intended as an accessory for the sofa but in fact it can be used within a broad range of furnishings. This is thanks to its pared-back and minimalist design which can be upholstered in leather or fabric. It is also lightweight and the handle makes it easy to move around.
F504 – Arper
Arper relaunch Geoffrey D. Harcourt’s classic F504 design from 1985. This mid-size armchair features smooth curves and a swivel function, combining nostalgic charm with a modern twist. The rounded shapes of the F504 ensures comfort, while the swivel base adds a touch of flexibility.
Muse – Arper
Arper also extends their collection with the Muse sofa and ottoman. This was a design we really liked during Milan – it had the practicality of a contract sofa but the friendliness of a piece that could equally work well in a home setting. It’s also exceedingly comfortable with its lovely arched back.
Olive Green – USM
Although we didn’t see USM at the furniture fairs, the company does have exciting news we thought worthy of sharing in this blog. Their limited edition Olive Green panel finish for their Haller system is sticking around for good. Originally launched as a Christmas special, USM have decided to grant this colour a permanent spot in their collection and we couldn’t be happier.
Tubelight – Moooi
Playful and quirky, Moooi’s latest lighting design Tubelight is sure to be a popular choice for many projects. The suspension light is available in two variants – a 1.5-meter fixed LED tube or 5-meter flexible LED tube. The 1.5-meter version boasts a fixed arc, and the 5-meter version allows the user to shape the flexible tube as desired.
Moodboard – Bla Station
A design that was actually released last year, Moodbord brings order and creativity together. Inspired by vintage retail sales counters, Moodboard is made from cross-laminated pinewood that is sturdy, strong, and with a distinct character. It can be dyed in many colours and the double-sided modules can be joined together to any desirable length. Moodboard can have all sorts of uses within shops, restaurants, hotels or offices. We particularly like the idea of it being used to display samples, drawings and other inspirational bits for client projects.
Pillo – Swedese
The Pillo armchair is the latest addition to Swedese’s collection, an extension of an existing product family. Suitable for many environments thanks to the legs which come in various executions: solid wood, four-leg metal base, central beam, and castor versions. Combining great comfort with a timeless design, Pillo also has a foam that saves 80% of CO2 emissions, compared to regular foam. All covers are also removable for cleaning and repair.
