Kinnear Road

A recent interior design project in Edinburgh’s prestigious Inverleith area.

“We worked with Joanne to design the interior of our new apartment.  As we were moving from a Victorian house to a modern open plan space we were effectively starting from scratch.  Joanne interpreted our brief brilliantly then planned and sourced a full range of furniture and fabrics.

Throughout the process, over a number of months Joanne consulted with us, advised on colours, layout and finishes and suggested a range of options that we would not have found on our own.  Her attention to detail, knowledge of the market and the quality of the products that Tangram supplied have resulted in a beautiful and practical home.”

The luxurious apartment offers phenomenal views across playing fields, the city centre and the iconic Edinburgh castle.

Having bought furniture from Tangram in the past, our clients came to us to provide a full design service for their new home. The aim was to create a classic and timeless interior.

To achieve this contemporary classic style, brands such as B&B ItaliaRimadesio, Walter Knoll and Porada were used to create clean lines and subtle sophistication throughout.

By focusing on space, colour, texture and shape, interior designer Joanne, was able to create a sleek aesthetic that complemented the modern style of the property.

Soft finishes including rugs and curtains were carefully selected to add warmth and allowed the apartment to feel homely and lived in.

Farrow and Ball‘s Drop Cloth and Purbeck Stone were chosen for key walls in the master bedroom and living space. The neutral tones added interest and instilled a sense of calm.

In addition, the client’s artwork and possessions (including the exquisite baby grand piano) were taken into consideration to ensure the scheme perfectly aligned with their lifestyle and tastes.

To ensure there was no disruption to the beautiful views, Silent Gliss roller blinds were the obvious choice, providing maximum shading and minimum window obtrusion.

“After the project was complete it was so lovely to hear that our clients found a new appreciation for their belongings – artwork, objects etc. These items tied into the scheme beautifully and accentuated the warm notes in the apartment. The entire process was an absolute joy, made better still with such lovely clients.” – Joanne Golden, Interior Designer
