The Crescent at Donaldson’s

Located within Edinburgh’s UNESCO World Heritage site The Crescent offers the best of contemporary living. Developed by CALA, the development is classically Edinburgh, the contrast of traditional and modern architecture being central to the beauty of the site.

The Crescent

Apartments at The Crescent have floor to ceiling windows, making a dramatic architectural statement and providing a seamless transition from indoors to out. Tangram was appointed by CALA to supply window blinds to the large glazing panels, a practical and aesthetically pleasing screening solution.

In addition, Tangram designers are working with clients at The Crescent to enhance interior spaces and create personal contemporary homes. Careful planning ensures space is used to best effect. In some cases, clients wish a completely new interior. In others, existing furniture is complemented with new items and colourways to create fresh environments, perfectly in keeping with the architecture.

Apartment 1

Our client was keen on the Charles sofa from B&B Italia as the focal point of their living room.  This has been complemented with a Rimadesio Tray coffee table in matt glass and Fritz Hansen Little Friend table all sitting on a Stubb rug from Kasthall.   Storage is from the Cube range by Interlubke.  In the dining area the wonderfully comfortable Liz dining chairs surround a Rimadesio Long Island table with a top in mattglass, lit by a Frisbi pendant light from Flos.

Apartment 2

Tangram were asked to design an interior with a focus on comfort and cosiness.  The stunning Marlene mirror from Baxter provides the backdrop for the modular Edouard sofa and armchair from B&B Italia

For dining, the client selected the E8 table and Morph chairs, all in solid oak stained grey. Lighting includes the Aplomb pendants from Foscarini and Heracleum by Moooi.
