In comparison, trends in the contemporary furniture and lighting industry tend to have a slightly longer life cycle; such as the use of metallics and marble.  We discuss some of the most apparent trends at this year's LDF...

Well... 2015 has been a very busy and exciting year so far! The contract calendar has been particularly eventful with a whole host of projects of varying scales. Luckily we have our very talented Contracts Director, Sarah, at the helm steering us to success with the creation of some truly stunning interiors.

2 blog posts in as many days - told you we've been busy! Lots of blog-worthy goings-on.

Mid-September saw the Tangram team visit the London Design Festival which was inspirational as ever. An opportunity to escape our desks, in our Edinburgh interior design showroom, and see what's happening in the wider world. London was bubbling with enthusiasm and excitement for all things ‘design’ and we managed to cram in an impressive amount in 2 short days.  Here come the highlights...

The Tangram team have come to find that this summer has sparked a passion for pink. The Milan Furniture Fair  was awash with the on trend colour this year with a subsequent increase in people choosing pink for their interiors... And we can see why!  Be it armchairs, dining chairs or accessories, dusky pink adds a subtle Scandinavian kick to any interior.

Designed by the Finnish interior magazine Deko as part of the Housing Fair Finland, this home is the epitome of Scandinavian style. The look is dominated by a monochromatic colour scheme with white, black and wood. The furniture channels the same look, adding minimal and functional design. Between the furniture and the high ceiling, the overall effect is one of understated luxury.

The furniture used predominantly to create this look is by the German manufacturer e15. Their Backenzahn stools, a classic e15 design,  are here being used as side tables and the beautiful wooden armchair is the Eugene.

The coolest colour to accessories with this winter is copper. This trend started a good year ago, but is still going strong and is being used by the likes of Tom Dixon and B&B Italia.
