10 Nov Unwrapping Christmas Wishes: An Interior Designer’s Wish List
Our Christmas Wish Lists
Have you ever wondered what an interior designer would wish for for Christmas? We spend our days helping clients create gorgeous homes and interiors and we are constantly surrounded by designs that are beyond beautiful. However, it is all too easy to forget about our own homes and design desires! For a bit of fun, and perhaps some inspiration, the Tangram team share with you their personal Christmas wish lists. No, this isn’t a hint to family and loved ones (although we do hope they are reading!)
Let’s take a peek at what some of our key members are hoping to find under the tree or in their Christmas stockings this year.
Sarah’s Wishlist
We start with the Christmas wish list of Managing Director, Sarah Ramsay, who has chosen something that you would quite literally find under the Christmas tree – The Fritz Hansen Stella Christmas Tree Base. Tired of standard tree bases, that are normally plastic and lacking any design prowess, Sarah loves this design as it is simply beautiful by contrast.

Also on Sarah’s wish list, or perhaps gift list, is an accessory whereby practicality meets aesthetics. These beautiful wooden chopping boards from the masters of wood, e15, are simple but add a tactile element to the kitchen. They make a perfect gift for those who appreciate both form, function and of course cooking!

Jenny’s Wishlist
Interior Designer, Jenny Milne, divulges her list to Santa. This includes the Bilboquet Table Light in Sage from Flos. A robust and compact light that exudes personality, it is the perfect addition to sit atop a console in her hallway, casting a warm and inviting glow.
Bilboquet – Flos
Jenny would also like two Vitra Toolboxes as gifts for her daughters this Christmas. Practical, stylish and available in a range of fun colours, these toolboxes also have many uses. For example, they are particularly handy for organising make-up and toiletries in teenagers’ bathrooms – we see what you did there Jenny!

Wouter’s Wishlist
Next, Wouter Bossenbroek, another Interior Designer and décor enthusiast at Tangram, shares his Christmas wishes. Wouter has his eyes on the Vitra Spindle Clock – a decorative timepiece that not only adds flair to the wall but also serves as a countdown to Christmas dinner! Nice!

Cestita Alubat table light from Santa&Cole is also on his list if Santa deems him good this year. Perfect for banishing dark corners and creating ambiance, this light promises to enhance the atmosphere of any space – indoor or out!

Tracy’s Wishlist
Finance and Operations Manager Tracy Innes, has her heart set on Fly Candles by Ingo Maurer. These hanging candles are suspended by what appears to be an invisible wire making them somewhat magical – perfect for Christmas time where magic fills the air! Tracy would like to hang these charming candles over her Christmas table to create an enchanting feel to her dining room – what a fab idea!

In addition, Tracy would love the Fritz Hansen Cashmere Throw because “who doesn’t want to be all wrapped up and cosy as the nights get darker!” We quite agree! This luxurious throw not only provides comfort but also introduces an extra layer of colour and texture to any room.

Pippa’s Wishlist
Marketing and Business Development Executive, Pippa Drucquer, wishes for a Wishbone Chair (another rather fitting gift for Christmas). Pippa loves its timeless appeal, a chair that can be cherished forever! Perfect as a singular side chair in a bedroom or as a set around a dining table – she’ll be needing a very big stocking!
CH24 Wishbone Chair – Carl Hansen & Son
The newly released Multi-Lite from GUBI is also high up on Pippa’s list. Portable lights have become all the rage in recent years. The no wire approach gives them an added sense of style and practicality. Pippa not only loves the sculptural aesthetic of Multi-Lite but also its versatility – it is described to be ‘the perfect companion for spontaneous moments’. How wonderful!

Joanne’s Wishlist
It’s definitely the season for wrapping up – Interior Designer, Joanne Golden, would also like a cosy throw this Christmas. As you may have guessed the Eames Wool Blanket was designed by the legendary Charles and Ray Eames. The design features crosses and dots – a reference to the abstract paintings by Ray Eames from the 1930s. Available in several colours and soft to the touch, it makes for a really lovely present, particularly so if you, like Joanne, are a big Ray Eames fan!

Joanne also adores Poltrona Frau’s latest range of vessels – Ikiperu. The hand-painted ceramic collection is inspired by the colours of Poltrona Frau’s leathers. With a soft yet striking appearance, Joanne hopes these will sit proudly on her living room console table.
