After a lovely festive break we're very excited to be back at Tangram HQ. Why? Well you only have to scroll through the images below to understand... A new year called for a new showroom display with some brand new products! And my, does it look pretty.

Tangram have been working with MARK Product for many years and it is a pleasure to watch the company and brand grow stronger every year.  Founded by John Miller and Anna Hart in 2008, Mark Product is based in Penryn in Cornwall which gives the company a unique DNA.  Much of the products are designed in Cornwall and many are made there too.

Our early favourite products from the collection were the Horizon screen made in solid timber which creates fabulous shadows and is a beautiful piece, the clever Spin table with its magnetic fixings and the Arris armchair with a solid timber frame and soft cushions which is fast becoming a classic.  Recent additions which we think are going to prove very popular are as follows;

'Flag' table and bench – a combination of slab ended tables and benches in laminate with a clever mitred joint and hardwood edge, a great idea to ensure a hardy product and available in a huge range of colours. Flag-table+bench_01

Yes - we are singing the praises of another one of our manufacturers but hey, we wouldn't supply them if they weren't praise-worthy.   This week it's Ligne Roset's time to shine...

With the unveiling of the limited edition Egg™ chair and Jaime Hayon's restoration of Arne Jacobsen's original designs in the iconic SAS Royal Hotel, things have been particularly Fritzy of late. To tickle your Tangram fancy this week we thought we'd stick to this main theme but discuss a different Fritz-filled hotel (did someone say alliteration?)

2 blog posts in as many days - told you we've been busy! Lots of blog-worthy goings-on.

Mid-September saw the Tangram team visit the London Design Festival which was inspirational as ever. An opportunity to escape our desks, in our Edinburgh interior design showroom, and see what's happening in the wider world. London was bubbling with enthusiasm and excitement for all things ‘design’ and we managed to cram in an impressive amount in 2 short days.  Here come the highlights...

Today's house tour comes to you courtesy of one of our favourite Italian manufacturers. As the only retailer in Scotland to supply B&B Italia, we thought it was only fitting to showcase this stunning rural home decked out in some of the brand's latest pieces.

Mueller produces beautiful furniture using traditional procedures and excellent craftsmanship.

That sentence could apply to any number of manufacturers. What makes Mueller different is that all their products are made out of metal; not just any metal but steel plates welded together by hand and painted with acrylic varnish as used in the car industry. This way Mueller produces a range of vibrant and elegant furniture that will last you for decades.

Tangram has recently discovered the 3D at Home app  from Montis, which uses new technology to project furniture into your home. To use the Montis app all you need is a tablet or smart phone and the latest catalogue or a printer. The printed sheet or the catalogue serve as dimension controllers, ensuring that the furniture is shown in correct proportion to its environment.

The interface is very user friendly and the digital image is remarkably realistic. Of course we at Tangram could not wait to play with this new toy and quickly projected some Montis furniture into our showroom.

The 265 light from Flos is one of the many articulated wall lights we have been seeing lately. There is a real trend for these flexible extending lights, but the 265 from Flos has quickly claimed a place in our hearts. It seems to have a unique ability to work in almost any space, with its simple, elegant design.
