Meet The Tangram Team – Tracy

Meet the team

We are nearing the end of our ‘Meet the Team’ series with just a few to go. This week we catch-up with Tracy. Read on to find out what she loves most about her job and which fashion trend she regrets!

Name: Tracy Innes

Job title: Finance and Operations Manager

1. What does a typical day at Tangram look like for you?

I always start my day with a coffee (I’m a bit of a creature of habit like that). After that my day is very varied with a range of tasks – I wear many hats. The hat lady of Tangram you might say. My role includes: dealing with all the accounts and finances, ensuring all logistics run like clockwork, checking goods that arrive in our warehouse, ensuring all health and safety procedures are adhered to, ensuring the team is up to date with jobs and deadlines, and in general making sure everyone is happy.

2. Favourite designer/interior designer/architect or hero?

I would say my hero is Freddie Mercury – he was a real talent, and he was not afraid to be different. No matter what stood in his way, he continued to strive for success and wanted every show to be perfect. A true inspiration and a reminder how precious life is.

 3. Favourite thing about your job?

I love that my job is varied and I love that we are a close team. You really feel part of the fabric of Tangram, not just another number. Everyone is supportive and we all work so well together, it’s a lovely environment to work in. We also have great coffee!

4. What do you like doing when you’re not at work?

Spending time with my family, walking my little furry dog Jess, watching the latest boxset, chocolate, G&Ts and fulfilling the role of being my daughter’s PA/taxi service.

 5. What’s the strangest fact you know?

I learnt this recently… if two pieces of metal, of the same metal, touch each other in space they bond forever. I think it is called cold welding. I thought that was very interesting.

 6. What is your 15 minutes of fame?

I was a part of the flag formation in the commonwealth games Edinburgh opening ceremony in 1986. I remember we did months of training for it and we all received these really cool blue tracksuits and Nike trainers for free.

7 Any fashion trends you regret?

I was an 80s child so just about all of them. Apart from leg-warmers, I loved my leg warmers – they should bring them back!

We hope you have enjoyed this week’s blog post and getting to know the Tangram team! Keep your eyes peeled for the next ‘Meet the Team’ or to find out more about us visit our About Us page.
