More from Milan 2015: New Lighting

Exciting new furniture pieces and designs have dominated much of our Salone del Mobile 2015 discussions so far.  Time for some new lighting designs to take the spotlight (sorry, couldn’t resist…!)

bocci 73 and this chairs

73 from Bocci. These pendants are made by blowing liquid glass into a ‘highly heat resistant ceramic fabric vessel’ creating fabric-like folds in the glass.  The results are pretty spectacular and would create a stunning statement light installation in bars, restaurants and homes alike!

bahia foscarini

The original Bahia light from Foscarini (the largest of the left cluster of wall lights) is a great option for adding some soft light to a space.  Made from polycarbonate, the LED light is now available in a smaller size and is appropriately named the Bahia Mini.  Also launched were the Lake LED wall lights seen in the image above in red and ivory.   The hollow shade produces a subtle pool of light and includes a dimming option to suit the chosen environment.

black caravaggio

The Caravaggio light by Cecilie Manz for Lightyears is now available in a very smart matte black finish!  Lightyears have introduced the new finish to celebrate 10 years of success with the original light launched back in 2005.

MARSET-TAM-TAM-4MARSET-TAM-TAM-P3

Another new variation of a great product:  Tam Tam by Marset  is now available as a linear pendant and floor light.  The first new addition incorporates a hanging pole that is either 145cm long and can accommodate 4 individual shades or 217cm long which allows for 6 shades.  The floor light is also available in 2 heights:  160cm which can fit 3 shades and 116cm which is designed to have one shade at the top of the pole.  What’s great about these new versions is that you can play around with different colours of lampshade to suit the aesthetic of your interior!

block-zero

Last but by no means least is an innovative new design from Zero lighting.  The very svelte Block LED light is cleverly incorporated into an acoustic panel designed primarily with the workplace in mind.  An extremely practical solution that provides both noise relief and an aesthetically pleasing lighting design for the contract environment!
